IceHouse Begins Anew as Sonnentag Theatre

Reconstruction of the IceHouse Theatre took longer than expected, and the season opener had to be cancelled. Patrons attending the opening of “Annie” were treated to a brand new look in the lobby, patio, parking and surrounding parking lot. The renovation was well worth the wait.

Entry from either the covered portico or the parking lot is awe inspiring event. Impressive, classy, and elegant are the best descriptions. About 2000 square feet of lobby and refreshment area were added. The parking lot was repaved and landscaping was enhanced.

The auditorium remains the same, but the theatre has been renamed as The Sonnentag Theatre at the IceHouse after the principal benefactors of the project, Carolyn and John Sonnentag. A major contribution was made by Clarence and Christine Kolek.

There is still more to be done at the location. Contributions are being accepted. A favorite is an engraved brick to be placed in the walkway.
